What makes this dish special

Lal Paneer is a simple and tasty dish that is easy to make. It's a vegetarian dish that is perfect for a quick weeknight meal. The dish gets its name from the red color of the tomatoes and spices used in the recipe. The paneer is coated in a flavorful sauce made from tomatoes, onions, and spices. The dish is garnished with fresh coriander, which adds a touch of freshness and flavor. This recipe uses no artificial colors or ingredients. It is best served with roti or paratha.

Recipe

Ingredients:

  • Paneer (170 grams), cut into half-inch cubes
  • Onions (2 medium), finely chopped
  • Tomato (1 big), finely chopped
  • Capsicum (1 small), finely chopped
  • Garlic (1 tsp), finely chopped (optional)
  • Green chillies (3-4), slit lengthwise
  • Tomato ketchup (1 TbSp)
  • Coriander, chopped (for garnishing)
  • Salt (to taste)
  • Red chilli powder (1 tsp)
  • Coriander powder (1 tsp)
  • Oil (2 TbSp)

Instructions:

  1. In a pan or kadai, take oil. Once hot, add the garlic (optional).
  2. Once light pink add the onions. Saute till they are translucent.
  3. Now add the tomatoes. Cook for 3 to 4 minutes, till they are mushy and the oil leaves the sides.
  4. Now add the green chillies, ketchup, and all spices and salt. Mix well.
  5. Add the paneer. Saute for a minute.
  6. Add the capsicum. Mix well.
  7. Switch off the gas. Plate the paneer and garnish with coriander.
  8. Serve hot with parathas /rotis.
