Garden Fresh Whole Wheat Bread

What makes this dish special

This is a very healthy bread recipe that is made with whole wheat. It's also called the garden fresh whole wheat bread because it contains a lot of greens and flavors. The bread is so flavorful that you don't need anything else to go with it. Just add a little butter and it's ready to eat. It's great for breakfast with a cup of coffee or tea. The tomatoes are deseeded and the juice is removed so that the skin is firm.

Recipe

Ingredients: * Whole wheat flour: 3 cups * Baking soda: 2 tsp * Salt: ¼ tsp * Capsicum: ¼ cup (chopped) * Tomatoes: ¼ cup (deseeded and chopped) * Processed cheese: 2 Tbsp (grated) * Basil: 2 Tbsp (finely chopped) * Garlic: 1 tsp (minced) * Milk: 2 cups (lukewarm) * Vinegar: 2 Tbsp * Honey: ¼ cup * Olive oil: 2 Tbsp

Topping: * Sesame seeds: 1 Tbsp * Mixed herbs: 1 tsp * Capsicum: 1 medium (sliced) * Tomato: 1 medium (deseeded and sliced) * Olives: 8 to 10 (sliced)

Instructions:

  1. Preheat the oven to 150 degrees Celsius on bake mode.
  2. Mix the vinegar and milk and keep aside for 5 to 10 minutes, till the milk curdles.
  3. Mix all dry ingredients together.
  4. Mix the wet ingredients with the curdled milk mixture.
  5. Mix the dry and wet ingredients well. Do not over mix.
  6. In a greased and lined baking dish, pour this mixture.
  7. Wash with a little milk and honey mixture.
  8. Decorate with all the topping ingredients.
  9. Bake for an 55-65 minutes till done. After 30 minutes, lightly cover with an aluminium foil so that the top doesn't get over brown.
  10. Once done, take out from the oven and keep aside covered with a cloth. Cut only after 4 to 5 hours. Cling wrap and store in the fridge upto a week.
